Type ll
What does it protect against?
Type ll body armor gives the second lowest amount of body armor out of all available types of body armor. It protects against heavier full metal jacket 9mm rounds, as well as .357 soft point rounds. It also protects against Type ll-A threats.
Should you wear it?
Police officers also use Type ll body armor. Many officers choose it for protection against higher velocity 9mm and .357 rounds. It is more bulky than Type ll-A body armor. However, police officers still can preform their duties without being held back by cumbersome body armor.
